Coast or countryside? Rambling or relaxing? Antique shops or art galleries? There’s no need to choose; you’ll find everything here!

With 26 miles of coastline offering sand and shingle beaches, beautiful towns, cliff-top paths and wildlife galore, FolkestoneHytheRomney Marsh & The Downs is the perfect place for a short or long break.

Wherever you base yourself on your stay, take the time to explore our different destinations and enjoy the unique character of our towns, country and coast.

We really do have something for everyone to enjoy on our shores, from foodie adventures and live music in the UK's first 'music town' to adrenline-fuelled fun out on the water or in our award-winning skate park F51

Culture vultures will fall in love with Folkestone’s Creative Quarter, with regular events and exhibitions from scores of local creative businesses, as well as workshops for big and small budding artists. The town also becomes a magnet for the world’s leading artists during the Folkestone Triennial, but the famous Folkestone Artworks trail public sculptures can be views all year round.

Families will adore our beaches along Kent’s Heritage Coast (voted as one of the top places to visit in the world by Lonely Planet), and day trips to historic Romney Hythe and Dymchuch Railway and the exotic Port Lympne Safari Park are a must.

The luscious hills of the Kent Downs are always on the horizon, with miles of paths to explore and awe-inspiring views rewarding those who brave the heights. And the UK's only desert Dungeness is a place of otherworldly beauty and one of the region's finest bird watching spots!

The district also has hundreds of stories to tell thanks to its rich history, so take the time to visit the striking Battle of Britain Memorial on the clifftops, Hythe’s Royal Miltary Canal and the Martello Towers dotted along the coast, and the eerie ossuary at St Leonard’s Church.

Don't worry if you crave bright lights and nights out, there is no shortage of venues hosting a multitude of festivals, events, concerts and entertainment throughout the year.
